Collagen Fillers St. Louis - Non-Invasive Procedures Missouri - Restylane - Radiesse - Sculptra

Do you have deep folds around your mouth that make you look older? Do you desire fuller lips? If so, you may be a candidate for collagen fillers.

As we age, the tissue on our cheek descends down. Since the folds around our mouths are fixed points, the tissue begins to hang over this fold, deepening them. Collagen fillers injected into this area cannot reverse this process. Only a cheek/midface lift or face – lift can reverse this process. Collagen fillers injected here can, however, camouflage these folds by making the crease appear to be less deep.

Dr. Cabbabe often injects collagen fillers into the lips (particularly the upper ones) of his patients as well. Patients who have had this procedure done previously and desire a more permanent procedure are ideal candidates for facial fat grafting.

Prior to your procedure, Dr. Cabbabe will carefully plan the injection areas with you. He will offer a topical anesthetic which takes about 30 minutes to take effect. This can help take the edge off of the injections. After the planned injection site(s) have been cleaned with alcohol, Dr. Cabbabe will inject the collagen fillers into the planned area(s). The entire procedure takes less than 5 minutes.

As opposed to many other places where an aesthetician, technician or nurse does the injections, Dr. Cabbabe believes that the injection of these materials is best left to the expertise of a trained plastic surgeon. Therefore, Dr. Cabbabe personally injects all of his patients.

Preparing for Surgery

Dr. Cabbabe will ask that you refrain from taking any aspirin, plavix, Coumadin or any other type of blood thinner.

Recovery

Dr. Cabbabe will ask that you keep ice on the injection site to decrease the risk of any bruising or swelling. The collagen fillers last from 6 – 12 months depending on the type and quantity injected.
