TRUTH: When you see as many botched patients comi

TRUTH: When you see as many botched patients coming through your office doors as I do each week (at least 5/week), you get cynical and jaded. Many patients come in thinking they’re good candidates for Lipo alone, getting fooled by Instagram results that show patients with immediate results lying down and staged patient selfies, but no long-term results. A significant number of these patients have disfigurement and irregularity, especially around their belly buttons. The problem is that you don’t see this until the swelling goes away, 6-12 months after surgery. . While this patient did not have prior liposuction, she came in thinking she was a good candidate for liposuction without a TT, but as you can see, she had a significant amount of excess skin circumferntially.

The reality is that there’s no such thing as a “skin tightening device”, they’re all gimmicks, IMO, your skin will tighten to some degree with liposuction, depending on how elastic it is. Liposuction is an ADJUNCT to skin removal, not a treatment alone for the vast majority of patients and many of these patients will seek revision once they are disfigured and often times require fleur-de-lis to remove the damaged skin. Fact is that most of the surgeons out there offering only liposuction either aren’t plastic surgeons or they aren’t experts and probably don’t really care what your long term results look like. In my opinion, the most technically difficult surg

In my opinion, the most technically difficult surgery in all of body contouring to perform is the complete upper body, lifting/rejuvenation. This consists of a 360 upper body lift, which includes a bra line lift and reverse tummy tuck, as well as an arm lift, and a chest lift and a breast lift. Implants are frequently added, or a fat transfer can be done. In cases where the upper body is heavy and has collapsed significantly on the abdomen and lower body, the upper body surgery must be done before the lower body. Otherwise the upper body gets pulled down by the tummy tuck and”locked” into a low position, and cannot be re-lifted later fully to the correct location. This is an approximately 7 to 7 1/2 hour surgery and patients stay one night in the hospital. No drains are needed! 🪄 16 month post-op from FDL LBL BBL surgery after MWL. A frequent concern when a FDL is recommended is how the scar will heal. Patients are easily scared of scars because most of the time the ones they see are barely a few months old and it really takes a minimum of 1 year for a scar to fade and the scar continues to lighten over the next few years. Why do we do over 100 lower body lifts a year? Because the power of a LOWER BODY LIFT on BUTTOCK, HIP AND THIGH RESHAPING cannot be underestimated. They’re not just for massive weight loss patients, you simply cannot get these results doing Brazilian butt lifts alone on patients with laxity. Doing a BBL on a patient who needs a lower body lift would be like putting an oversized implant in a patient who needs a breast lift also, the results just don’t look right and will require revision.

Another Plus size (BMI 30) MMO. This one was a challenge, because of the thickness of her abdomen, the damaged skin above her belly button necessitating a FDL and her tuberous breast shape. We really had to reduce her waist significantly and expand her breast with a very large implant to reproportion her body. A tuberous breast requires a different style of augmentation to expand the lower half and a lift was done to flatten her areolas. A large, heavy pannus was removed and 4 Liters of large volume liposuction was done to remove close to 15 pounds of tissue. A breast lift with implants helped re-proportion her body. She would benefit from an additional round of 360 lipo later for further contouring

Well, these can be done safely in experienced hands, counseling patients on low their expectations is often the difficult part of these procedures and that additional procedures are beneficial. Visceral fat cannot be removed, only with weight loss.

Back at it again with our signature FDL LBL BBL for 360 degree total body reshaping, the equivalent of 3 tummy tucks in 1 surgery 😯(we’re doing 4 of these procedures this month alone)! The middle of her abdomen had poor skin quality so a FDL was needed otherwise her results would have been poor (something we’ve been seeing WAY too much of)!
