This procedure entails liposuction to remove fat from an area of the body, commonly in the abdomen, hips or thighs. The fat is then processed to purify it and injected into areas on the back of the hand that are carefully marked prior to surgery. The operation can be done in the office under local anesthesia or under general anesthesia depending on your desires and needs.

Preparing for Surgery

Dr. Cabbabe will ask that you refrain from taking any aspirin, plavix, Coumadin or any other type of blood thinner.

Recovering from Surgery

Patients are able to go home the same day. Pain medication and antibiotics will be prescribed. Bruising and swelling may be present around the sights of injection for one to two weeks. Dr. Cabbabe will ask that you keep ice on the surgical site to decrease this. He will also ask you to keep your hands elevated to decrease swelling.
